Make and Keep Beautiful Floral Arrangements

WEDNESDAY      March 7th     (1:00PM-3:00PM)

Presenter: Barbara P. Clark

In this class we will cover how to condition flowers from your garden and those purchased from florists and farmers' markets.  How to make them last and things to use to establish an arrangement foundation, using wire, tape, glue, etc., to enhance your arrangements. Beginning and advanced arrangers are welcome. Bonus hint: how to revive your droopy roses! Students should bring their floral tool kits if they have them. If not, the instructor will provide the materials needed.   Space is limited to only 12 participants!!

Sculpture is one of the oldest and most enduring of all the arts. It is believed to be as old as human culture and is possibly more capable of grasping the senses than two-dimensional art forms.  This appealing lecture will address how various cultures, communities and artists, past and present, have used sculpture to portray their visions, gods and ambitions.  This lecture is a survey of unique concepts, from ancient times when sculptures embellished temples, to contemporary installations and engaging earthworks.

“The history of the Broadway Musical is peppered with a large number of unique and defining moments when innovations by certain composers have found their way onto those exceptional and exclusive scrolls labeled Broadway Legends”.  Popular pianist, humorist, and recording artist Bruno Leone will play, sing and chat his way through many of these innovative moments taken from nearly 150 years of Musical Comedy.  The musicals of Andrew Lloyd Webber, Stephen Sondheim, Kurt Weill, George Forrest, Jerome Kern and others will be among the featured favorites.  Please join Leone as he combines his artistry at the piano with a wealth of captivating narratives and anecdotes all of which will reveal Broadway’s most incomparable moments.
